Website Additions and New Look
Jul 31, 2011 10:20 AM
This E-Beam website has been updated with quite a bit more information, in particular about machine operation (most of which is password protected. See Rick if you want to get a password.)
At the same time, the website was changed to a new theme, changing the appearance and layout. This was done primarily to allow deeper page hierarchy -- the former horizontal menu layout only allowed 3 layers of document hierarchy. With the addition of many operating details, another layer or two of hierarchy became necessary.
By the way, you can usually see the latest site updates listed here.

UW Microfabrication Facility

Effective today, the Fluke Hall Cleanroom, where the UW JEOL Ebeam is located, is now owned and operated entirely by the University of Washington, College of Engineering. (The former Washington Technology Center organization has been abolished by the Washington state legislature.) Find out more details at the UW Microfabrication Facility (MFF) Website. I think you can expect some exciting improvements in the near future, as the college has pledged to improve the facilities, equipment, and staffing of the facility, which will benefit all lab users, including e-beam users. There will be some transition period as we hire new leadership and staff, tend to some some long-neglected maintenance, and begin to refurbish and/or replace old equipment, but I'm confident you can expect come good changes to come at the UW-MFF.
